QUEENSFERRY CROSSING SAFETY INDUCTION PROGRAMME
Our client was running a large-scale project involving a consortium of Engineering, Construction and Industrial specialists. The workforce was diverse and was also largely made up contractors where English was a second language. The Safety Induction Programme, therefore, needed to be highly graphical in nature and also needed to provide a high level of engagement.
We used our Safety Induction Catalogue to help our client identify a basic outline for the programme. We then ran a gap analysis of other topics that were bespoke to this project and created some customised content. We spent time onsite and with the project team to ensure we delivered a safety programme that would help condense the delivery time of the inductions but without any loss in the engagement and retention levels.
Our client managed to reduce the time of safety induction delivery by more than 60%. The video allowed HSE to have a clear and consistent message each and every time it was used, rather than the previous Powerpoint delivery that meant the delivery changed according to who delivered it. HSE representatives were then able to reinforce the expectations of the project and also utilised a Hazard Spotting exercise created from the content to highlight any potential dangers in an interactive session.
